Phuket Bike Week is one of the largest motorbike events in South East Asia and has been the only international bike event in this part of the globe for over 20 years. There are two venues, Patong Beach and Phuket Town. Part of bike week has become a concert venue for many famous Thai bands and singers. Last year’s attendance was approximately 144,000.
The first year 1995 they had 150 bikes, and last year (2014) there were 14,000 bikes, including 40 air shipped from the Middle East, and 200 sea shipped bikes from Indonesia. Other foreign bikes rode on to the island from Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia. Audience attendance came from 26 countries including Australia, New Zealand, China, Philippines, North America and Europe.
This family friendly fund raising event is organised by West Coast-Ride Thailand Co. Ltd. and has official sanctioning by various government bodies including Thai Tourism Authority, Royal Thai Navy, and Thai Police.
