BRITISH CUSTOM BIKE BUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS!
For too long now, it seems, Britain has been a little left out when it comes to prestigious custom shows. The French have the Radical Bike Show at Pecquencourt, the Portuguese and Spanish have Faro, the Dutch Rosmalen, the Swedes Norrtlaje so we at BSH thought it was time we had our own high-class one too. The thing is, we’re going to do it slightly differently to everyone else…

For 2016 we’ve worked out a format that we think will work. There will be four qualifying rounds, each with five categories, giving a total of twenty winners. Those twenty will go into a feature in the magazine where they will be voted on by you, the readers, to give just five, one in each category, and those five will go to Custom Xtreme at the NEC in November. There will be trophies at each of the four rounds, and then there will be really good prizes at the NEC too.
The four rounds will be run as part of the following custom shows throughout the summer, and they’ll be running alongside the traditional classes:
17-19th June: Yorkshire MAG’s Farmyard Party at Dunscombe Park, Helmsley, Yorkshire. www.farmyardparty.com/farmyard-party
2nd July: Diamond Day NCC London Custom Bike Show at the Ace Cafe, London. www.custom-show.co.uk/
21-24th July: Rock & Blues Custom Show at the Coneygrey Showground, Pentrich, Derbyshire. http://therockandblues.com
11-14th Aug: HAMC’s Bulldog Bash at Shakespeare County Raceway, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. http://bulldogbash.co.uk/custom-show-contact/
And the categories will be:
Best Chopper
Best Custom
Best New School Custom (cafe racer, street scrambler, etc.)
Best Paint
Best Streetfighter
The winner of each of the classes at each of the events will be voted on by you, the readers, and the five you vote for will go to Custom Xtreme.
Entrants can enter as many rounds as they like, but you can only win once so you don’t need to go to all four (unless you want to, of course) – just the one nearest you. Of course, if you don’t win at the first one, you can always go to one of the others to give yourself another chance. And all the rules of the hosting events apply – check out their various websites for details.
Good luck!
