With the whole world in complete lockdown, and therefore plenty of spare time to fill, Gary Goodacre thought he’d create a virtual bike show video for those with withdrawal symptoms, allowing him to indulge his three passions (well, the three he can talk about in public anyway…); motorcycles, street photography; and jazz.
In May 2019 he attended the Bike Shed Show at Tobacco Dock in London, taking many photographs. He approached the photography from a street perspective, taking candid shots of the exhibitors, attendees, and bikes, and his aim was to give the viewer a flavour of the atmosphere and ‘vibe’ of the show. To reflect the laid-back feel of the event he’s added jazz trumpeter Chet Baker’s ‘Almost Blue’ as the backing track.
For the technically minded, the majority of the photographs were taken with a Fujifilm X-pro1 camera and 27mm lens.
