H-D FLSTC 1999 Sweet & Sassy | Brag Your Bike

by

The bike started life as a 1999 STC and has morphed into what you see now:

CCD softail frame. Shortened shocks and forks. 60mm billet yokes (skimmed lower yoke to allow travel). S&S V111 engine, super E carb. 330 rear – 160 front tyre. 6 speed close ratio Box. Polished hydraulic clutch, hidden wiring. Gel filled seat. Shotgun stainless pipes. Branded hose and lines. Purple with ghost flame.  Had 24″ apes and 21″ front wheel when first built (still available).

I hate talking about myself but here goes; my two great loves, music and bikes, started building custom stuff at the tender age of 17. I loved the long forks and the high bars, my first was my T159 750 Trident with girder forks and king and queen seat, prismic tank. It made Brighton feel like California!

The band I was playing with in the 80’s later used it on their tee-shirt and the album sleeve. In-between drumming my heart out I built bike after bike. My first Harley ended up on the Meatloaf Hits out of Hell album.

Through the years I’ve built all manner of bikes as well as a V8 trike, very goth! Won awards at many shows both in the UK and abroad. When ‘Custom Cycle’ was out and about I had an article entitled  ‘Augmentation’ featuring one of my shovelheads. I see bikes as living art. I love to see them form from an idea in the head or a doodle on paper to a funky creation, very satisfying.

The only other vice I have is tattoos, like the bikes they are an addiction. Which leads very easily to having my whole body covered from head to toe! Sorry mum!!!

So really that’s me, tattoos, bikes and music,  not a bad life.

Ps. I’ve built lots of stuff for other people, always interested to see what ideas others have, guess that’s the thing, once a bike is done there is always something else to play with.

I’m now 64 and thought this purple baby was going to be the last build for myself as a few years ago I was diagnosed with Antisynthetase Syndrome, this has progressed to the point that it at times affects my balance so I have decided to sell most of my bikes and move to a trike, another V8. The urge never goes away. Watch this space!
