Kikker Hardknock HKIII 125cc – Lucky 13 | Brag Your Bike

by

As far as I know mine is the only Kikker Hardknock in Greece, & as I live on a tiny island it’s ideal to get around. I bought it new in 2012 from Germany, it’s an HKIII model & came with a 50cc Honda clone engine. I immediately replaced that with a 125cc semi-auto (complete with jockey shifter) as pictured, & since then I’ve fitted a tuned 140cc Piranha manual 5-speed with big valve head. I hand-painted tank logos, fab’d my own chain tensioner (skateboard wheel), side-mount for the numberplate, & the seat hoop is from a 70’s Vespa.

Also since these photos I’ve re-covered the seat with brown leather & extra padding – ah, the joys of a hardtail. To make the best of the 140 I changed the sprockets, & added an external oil cooler.

These mini bobber/bar hoppers originally came as a kit in a box & had a small but dedicated following in the US, then the MkIII came out as a complete bike & had EU approval, but there still doesn’t seem to be many around – sadly the bikes had a bad rep for build quality & the company for terrible after sales support, which didn’t help.

OK, it’s no HD, Triumph or Norton etc, but it’s so much fun to ride & wrench, & gets loads of attention wherever I go, which to me is what it’s all about.
