Eccles Racing is a small establishment nestling in a shopping parade on the outskirts of Thetford, Norfolk. The shop is an Aladdin’s cave to classic bike mechanics and custom builders alike – if your thingamywotsit’s broken and he hasn’t got one, he’ll probably be able to suggest something that’ll do the job because he appears to me to be a walking encyclopaedia of all things biking; and if it’s getting a classic wheel re-laced or a new one built, then you’ve definitely come to the right place.
Eccles has been building wheels probably longer than I have been riding, and many of his creations have adorned the pages of Back Street Heroes on our feature bikes.
