January 2018 issue out now!

Have you checked out the winners of the 2017 BSH Custom Bike Building Championships yet? If you were at Motorcycle Live at the NEC last month you’ll have seen them in the flesh on the BSH Custom Xtreme stand – but if not, you can get a first glimpse of the victors in the January 2018 edition.
New year resolution to build your own bike? You’ll pick up some great hints and tips in our latest issue and be able to drool over some of the finest bikes we’ve featured so far.
Guy’s incredible S&S Sportster was lovingly hand-crafted by Vic Jefford of Destiny Cycles in Yorkshire and you could say it was a ‘miner’ miracle… it’s built around a Goldrush chop frame, and the amazing airbrush artwork echoes the theme (right).
Continuing the terrible puns, we’ve got some Swede dreams to share, with three of the best long-forked bikes in Scandinavia gracing the January issue pages. Ben Dyer tells his story of creating a bike to take part in a grand moped tour of southern Spain – check out Simon Everett’s amazing pictures of this tiny tourer – and we’ve got another home-built belter, a Honda CB750 that’s been transformed into a cracking cafe racer (left).
Mr Everett’s also been busy taking pin-sharp pictures of another home-built success, Rich Butler’s hardtail, Wobbly Bolt Engineering… this one’s for sale, if you’re interested!
Editor Nik heads to Cannes to try out the Indian Scout Bobber, and for your pure amusement, here’s the first two paragraphs of his report: Bobbers are where it’s at, baby, everyone knows that! I can’t quite put me finger on when the term ‘bobber’ was dragged from dusty motorcycling terminology obscurity by the collar of its tatty flannel shirt and thrust, blinking, into the spotlight of fashion, handed a baseball cap with a flat peak and a bandana to hang out of its back pocket, and told in no uncertain terms “you’re it”. It was a couple o’ three years ago now, but you can guarantee that whoever it was he had a coiffeured beard and didn’t go “how f**kin’ much?!?” when they’re handed a cup of coffee so frothy it could present children’s TV programmes…

We’ve got the best bikes, the best photographs, the best writers and the best reports from some of the best shows of 2017 – The Bulldog Bash, Belfast Custom Show, Yorkshire Pudding Rally, Scratchin’ at the Door Rally and the Barrel Bikers’ Custom Show. So if you were there, you might be here, immortalised in the pages of your favourite mag.
There’s loads more to enjoy, too… news, products, the latest from MAG, more road trip madness from columnist Rick Hulse, bikes for sale, events for the forthcoming few months, techy stuff and our regular four-page Readers’ Lives section.
If you’re not already a subscriber, you’ve still got time to treat yourself, a friend or relative to a BSH Christmas! By taking up our excellent subscription offer, you will save more than 19% – yes, 19 PER CENT! – off the cover price… you’ll get the mag delivered direct to your door, too, before it hits the newsagents’ shelves. Go on, you won’t spend 20 quid more wisely than this!
